Training Programs

In an effort to provide you with the ideal training for your team, we offer two types of classes—customer-hosted and Shainin-hosted. While customer-hosted classes provide the opportunity to speak freely and in-depth about potential solutions to specific problems your organization is facing with a group from only your company, Shainin-hosted classes offer a chance for a smaller group of individuals from your company to network and collaborate with peers across and outside your industry for a broad scope of technique application.

  • If you believe your team’s needs will best be met by a customer-hosted class, please contact us, and we can discuss what arrangement will best suit your company.
  • If your team would benefit more from a Shainin-hosted class and you have already signed an agreement with Shainin, please use the course schedule below to register for a class. If your company hasn’t completed an agreement with Shainin, please contact us, and we can get started on the paperwork right away.

If you have any questions about pricing, legal agreements, or other logistics, please contact us for more information and we’ll be happy to help.

Product & Reliability Path

RED X® APPRENTICE – PRODUCT PERFORMANCE

Participants learn the steps in the Shainin FACTUAL™ process and how to apply it to engineering problems that surface during development, production trials, and initial launch where smaller sample sizes are typical. The class also explores measurement system effectiveness and Red X® confirmation as well as the establishment of tolerances that ensure customer needs are met. A special emphasis is placed on strategies to deal with difficult malfunction failures as well as destructive event failures. Ideal projects involve product performance, durability and reliability and conforming to regulatory requirements.

RED X® RELIABILITY

Participants learn advanced strategies and tools for solving reliability problems that occur during customer usage. The course picks up where the Product Performance Class left off, starting with an understanding of the different patterns of failure. A key theme of the class is being able to establish a problem-solving strategy for when the problem lives in variation in the product’s resistance to a particular failure mode (strength), a spike in application energy, or environmental decay weakening the strength over time.
